The Garrett County Board of Elections is responsible for
maintaining voter registration and overseeing the conduct of all State and Federal Elections held in Garrett County.
The Election Office is located in the Public Service Center at:

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Primary Election Day - April 3, 2012
General Election Day - November 6, 2012
Polls Open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

To register to vote: A person must be a US citizen, residing in
Maryland, be 18 years of age by the next General Election, not disqualified by a
criminal record and not be under guardianship for a mental disability.

Casting a vote in Maryland and Garrett County consits of two different methods.
1.) A voter can go to their assigned polling place or to an early voting site
and cast their vote on a touch screen electronic voting unit. or 2.) Request an absentee ballot to be delivered to the voter anywhere in the world. |
